Top 3 Must-Eats in Shivamogga City!
If you ever visit Namma Shivamogga as an tourist, and feel tired after travelling all day, these are the top street-snacks you must try!
1. DVS Panipuri
Started way before I was born, I heard my dad always saying how he used to go along with his friends and eat an entire plate for a single rupee at that time. I also got my first taste when I was around four-five years of age. With time, I have grown more attached to the tasty Bhelpuri & Masal Puri they offer here.
As for taste, it is unlike anything you have tasted outside Shivamogga. Though I haven't tried a lot of places, among all the Masal Puris I have tried whenever I was in Bengaluru or other cities, their taste is of a complete different sort.
I especially recommend you to try the Bhelpuri they make here. Its tatse can be considered among the top best in all the Bhel Puris of India.
2. Panchatantra Ice-cream Parlour:
This too, started way before I was born. If you want to taste some blender of different flavors made into a yummy one, this is the place for you.
As my personal favorite, I would recommend you to try the 'Death By Chocolate' especially if you are a fan of chocolate flavoured ice-creams.
3. Meenakshi Bhavan / Shubham Hotel
Tbh, both of them are my personal favorite restaurants.
For North-Indian Delicacies, try Hotel Shubham. The taste here is amazing. It is often busy and you might need to wait to get a seat, but the taste makes you think it's worth it (sometimes).
I especially recommend eating the Butter-Kulcha with Kaaju-Masala. After the dinner, you can also buy a Sweet-Beeda in the small store next to the hotel for better digestion, if you want (Lol, I just personally like the Beeda here).
For South-Indian Delicacies, this is a must-try. I just love the Masala Dose they serve here. Even the Mandakki Usli is also my another favourite here. I haven't been here for a quite a time, so I am describing based on when I used to come here.
If you don't want to dine in and feel lazy on a Sunday morning, just go to Vidhatri Bhavan and order a takeout of Ricebath (Palav) there. I love the taste of that.
That's it.---------------
